2 Parting with Misconceptions about Learning-based Vehicle Motion Planning The release of nuPlan marks a new era in vehicle motion planning research, offering the first large-scale real-world dataset and evaluation schemes requiring both precise short-term planning and long-horizon ego-forecasting. Existing systems struggle to simultaneously meet both requirements. Indeed, we find that these tasks are fundamentally misaligned and should be addressed independently. We further assess the current state of closed-loop planning in the field, revealing the limitations of learning-based methods in complex real-world scenarios and the value of simple rule-based priors such as centerline selection through lane graph search algorithms. More surprisingly, for the open-loop sub-task, we observe that the best results are achieved when using only this centerline as scene context (\ie, ignoring all information regarding the map and other agents). Combining these insights, we propose an extremely simple and efficient planner which outperforms an extensive set of competitors, winning the nuPlan planning challenge 2023. 4 authors · Jun 13, 2023
1 A Deep Learning Model for Coronary Artery Segmentation and Quantitative Stenosis Detection in Angiographic Images Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a leading cause of cardiovascular-related mortality, and accurate stenosis detection is crucial for effective clinical decision-making. Coronary angiography remains the gold standard for diagnosing CAD, but manual analysis of angiograms is prone to errors and subjectivity. This study aims to develop a deep learning-based approach for the automatic segmentation of coronary arteries from angiographic images and the quantitative detection of stenosis, thereby improving the accuracy and efficiency of CAD diagnosis. We propose a novel deep learning-based method for the automatic segmentation of coronary arteries in angiographic images, coupled with a dynamic cohort method for stenosis detection. The segmentation model combines the MedSAM and VM-UNet architectures to achieve high-performance results. After segmentation, the vascular centerline is extracted, vessel diameter is computed, and the degree of stenosis is measured with high precision, enabling accurate identification of arterial stenosis. On the mixed dataset (including the ARCADE, DCA1, and GH datasets), the model achieved an average IoU of 0.6308, with sensitivity and specificity of 0.9772 and 0.9903, respectively. On the ARCADE dataset, the average IoU was 0.6303, with sensitivity of 0.9832 and specificity of 0.9933. Additionally, the stenosis detection algorithm achieved a true positive rate (TPR) of 0.5867 and a positive predictive value (PPV) of 0.5911, demonstrating the effectiveness of our model in analyzing coronary angiography images. SAM-VMNet offers a promising tool for the automated segmentation and detection of coronary artery stenosis. The model's high accuracy and robustness provide significant clinical value for the early diagnosis and treatment planning of CAD. - RoadPainter: Points Are Ideal Navigators for Topology transformER Topology reasoning aims to provide a precise understanding of road scenes, enabling autonomous systems to identify safe and efficient routes. In this paper, we present RoadPainter, an innovative approach for detecting and reasoning the topology of lane centerlines using multi-view images. The core concept behind RoadPainter is to extract a set of points from each centerline mask to improve the accuracy of centerline prediction. We start by implementing a transformer decoder that integrates a hybrid attention mechanism and a real-virtual separation strategy to predict coarse lane centerlines and establish topological associations. Then, we generate centerline instance masks guided by the centerline points from the transformer decoder. Moreover, we derive an additional set of points from each mask and combine them with previously detected centerline points for further refinement. Additionally, we introduce an optional module that incorporates a Standard Definition (SD) map to further optimize centerline detection and enhance topological reasoning performance. Experimental evaluations on the OpenLane-V2 dataset demonstrate the state-of-the-art performance of RoadPainter. 5 authors · Jul 21, 2024
